A sustainable committee meeting (Juice Co)
Our last Happy Ocean meeting we were pleasantly surprised by the virtuous droplets of Nicole and Geoffrey - they gifted us with coffee and smoothies for refreshments. At first glance the cups appeared to be made from single-use plastic, however after looking closer they were actually certified compostable, made from plants. It was a great way to support a local business that is making efforts to reduce single-use plastic.
After the meeting a few committee members went to visit Juice Co and here are a few photos of their certified compostable products (World Centric plastic-free):
They also recycle their glass bottles and give customers a discount on their juice purchase for returning the bottles.
In addition a couple committee members purchased coffee for our meeting this past weekend - it feels good to make sustainable plastic-free choices, where the products will compost and be absorbed by the earth, and won't end up in a landfill or our oceans for 400 years.
